Tekram TR-822 2-way Sata Raid Ctrl Card
我找了一張這樣的卡
用在客戶的一台PC上
它很便宜
我只花了690就在Yahoo拍賣上買下它
安裝很簡單
建立bios把raid建立起來(raid 1)
Linux(centOS 5)直接就detect到它
問題出在要如何monitor Raid的狀態?
起先以為用cat /proc/mdstat就可以
後來發現那裡頭的資訊是空白的
google了半天
才搞清楚這類便宜的raid卡其實被稱作fakeraid
(許多主機板上onboard的sata raid都是這種東東)
它介於hardware raid和softraid之間
嚴格講
它其實應該算是software raid
只不過它仍然提供用以進行設定的bios
而software raid則完全和OS相關
例如你可以在一台機器上用fakeraid
而讓這台機器dual boot的二個作業系統都能access它
若是software raid
就只限有create software raid的那一個OS能access了
大多數網人認為這點是fakeraid唯一勝過software raid的地方
mdstat/mdadm可以用在hardware raid或software raid
fakeraid要用dmraid
TR-822用的是silicon image的晶片
可以用dmraid -s -s sil
來列出raid set的訊息
原本最後一個參數應該給多raid set的完稱名稱
不過在不知道完整名稱的情況下
用類以sil這種晶片名稱片段的方式
系統一樣會找出符合的raid set並顯示其資訊
以這台PC為例
在/dev/mapping下
完整的raid set名稱為sil_ahbidhcdbadj
dmraid -s sil_ahbidhcdbadj的輸出如下:

故意把其中一顆硬碟拔掉
重新開機
bios出現: raid status = critical
按任意鍵後繼續開機過程
仍然順利開機成功
此時再用dmraid列出raid set訊息
status仍是ok
只是devs由2變成1
把硬碟裝回去再重開
bios顯示raid進入rebuild狀態
並且說rebuild會在開機程序完成後進行
開機時會遇到一些錯誤
所以會稍微慢一些
開完機後也沒看到有什麼重建程序在run
於是我又作一次reboot
bios仍顯示raid進入rebuild狀態
rebuild會在開機程序完成後進行
這次的開機過程裡OS偵測到Volumn error
於是強制進行filesystem check
跑了半天
最後出現:unexpected inconsistency, run fsck manuall
我只好照提示輸入root密碼
手動執行fsck
正確的作法應該在開機時按下Ctrl-C(要看螢幕顯示)
進入raid card的bios
在裡頭顯示第一顆HD狀態OK
而被拔掉後又接回的那顆狀態為rebuild
可以在此處選擇offline rebuild
接下來就會看到它把資料由好的那顆寫到重建那顆
重建完
開機後就沒事了
